The Ancient Egypt

Egypt is full of mysteries. Today we associate this North African country with giant pyramids, temples and tombs of pharaohs. Historians discovered that the ancient nation living around the River Nile existed more than 5,000 years ago and lasted for over 2,000 years. It was a mighty civilization. The center of life was concentrated around the Nile. First of all, people used this river as the main transportation route. Secondly, its annual floods made it possible to grow crops.

The ancient Egyptians worshiped several gods and goddesses and especially for them, the Egyptians built huge temples. The most important of all was the god of the sun – Amun Ra. Also the ancient Egyptians believed in life after death. That’s why they preserved their pharaohs in mummies. Afterwards these mummies were placed in tombs.

In conclusion, I would like to say that Ancient Egypt was the beginning of progress.
